Installation
Recommended construction procedures
- Construction ground surface should be flat.
- Protective hard board covering with a minimum thickness of 1⁄8” should be placed over
Sonovoid concrete void forms before reinforcing steel placement, to prevent puncture.
- Cover top of void forms with polyethylene, 4 mil minimum, and overlapping joints.
- Extreme wet ground conditions may require a waterproof membrane to protect void forms.
After forms are stripped, the protective membrane should be cut to allow moisture to
penetrate.
- Where fitting is required, wrap the area sufficiently to prevent penetration of water from
wet concrete.
- Storage of void forms should be dry prior to job site placement.
- Do not exceed ACI recommended pour rates.
- Do not let vibrator come in contact with void form, as this may result in carton damage.
